EQUINE SCIENCE CENTER ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIPS

 

       NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (January 15, 2009) – The Equine Science Center at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and the Department of Animal Sciences in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences are alerting students to several scholarships that are available to individuals pursuing equine studies.

 

       The Doris C. Murphy Endowed Scholarship is reserved for women students who are New Jersey residents majoring in Animal Sciences with a minor in Equine Science and are enrolled or accepted for enrollment at Rutgers. Up to six $1,000 awards are available annually. The deadline for applications for the 2009/2010 academic year is May 1. Applications can be requested by emailing the Equine Science Center at esc@aesop.rutgers.edu.

 

       The Race for Education, a national non-profit organization, offers a series of scholarships for students in the equine and agricultural fields. Multiple awards ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 are available; they are sponsored by a number of organizations and companies and are open to young people of equine industry families as well as those who want to pursue an equine-related or agricultural career. Applications for the coming academic year are due February 28.
