'So You Want to Keep Your Horse Sound…?'
Rutgers Equine Science Center Announces Horse Management Seminar
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – “So you want to keep your horse sound…?” is the over-arching theme of the upcoming Horse Management Seminar hosted by the Rutgers Equine Science Center and Rutgers Cooperative Extension. The seminar, scheduled from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on Sunday, February 7, 2010, will feature presentations by several equine industry experts. “The seminar is
a must for horse owners, and will serve as a powerful introduction for
anyone who owns or is thinking about owning a horse,” says Dr. Carey
Williams, extension equine specialist and Associate Director of Extension
for the Equine Science Center. Keeping a horse sound is vital to horse
health and overall well-being. “Our goal in presenting this workshop is to
provide unbiased scientific information that will be beneficial to owners
and their horses.” Williams has
assembled presenters who are recognized as experts in their field to offer
personal insight and perspectives. Topics will include: biomechanics and
physiotherapy; leg care tips; rehabilitation from injury; unwanted horses;
responsible horse ownership; and, a panel with the presenters will round
up the ‘sound horse’ focus areas. In addition to
the educational presentations, the seminar will feature informational
displays, networking opportunities with industry companies and area
organizations, and ample time for one-on-one discussions with the day’s
presenters. For complete
program and registration information,
download the Horse Management Seminar brochure or contact Dr. Carey
Williams at cwilliams@aesop.rutgers.edu or 732-932-5529.
